WHAT IS NEW IN ICQ 99a?

 

1 - History - Now ICQ History has three option :

    ICQ Message Archive - In the past, ICQ History saved incoming/outgoing URL, Messages and File Transfers. Now, you have a complete record of every communication event you sent or received using ICQ 99a, in an easy to access Organizer.

    Advanced Find - A thorough search through your Archive.

    Print - You can print your history of events from your Archive.



2 - Whitepages - The ultimate ICQ search engine for finding ICQ users according to a wide variety of search criterium.

3 - Enhanced User Information - You can publicize more personal information and retrieve more information on other ICQ users.

4 - Birthday - Retrieve the birth date of your friends and announce your own. By doing so your friends will be reminded of the occasion, and you are able to send and receive Virtual Birthday cards through ICQ.

5 - The ICQ Homepage Factory - Create your own ICQ homepage. When you log on, other ICQ users can visit your Personal ICQ Homepage.

6 - Homepage Directory/Category - List your homepage under a category so that other ICQ users who share your interest can find you.

7 - Plugins - See the added events to the ICQ client:

    Greeting Cards - Send your friends an ICQ Greeting Card through the ICQ servers.

    Voice Message - Send your Friends voice messages through ICQ.



8 - ICQ Email - In addition to the existing options you now can send Email through the ICQ Client.

    Messages - Messages of unlimited size can be sent to online users.

    Email - ICQ messages that contain more than 450 characters automatically launch the ICQ Email if the recipient is offline.

    Voice Mail - You can record yourself and send it by email as voice mail.

    Forward by Email - You can forward messages you received using an Email client.



9 - Colored Messages - You can change the background color and the font color of your ICQ messages, creating your own look and feel to ICQ.

10 - Sound Effects - You can configure sound effects for typing your messages or any ICQ event.

11 - Sound Schemes - New sound schemes are available for you to configure with ICQ. From Wild Animals through TV shows, to your favorite computer game!

12 - Groups - You can organize people on your Contact List into groups (co-workers, friends, family etc).

13 - LDAP - You can search for people in other email directories.

14 - Alert / Accept Mode - Configure new sounds for your incoming events and various alerts, and set a personal message for someone special.

15 - Global Online Alert - Set ICQ to alert you when a friend in your Contact List logs on.

16 - Improved Phone Features - More options for regular and Internet telephony systems.

17 - New Services:

    Phone Available Status - Use the ICQ Phone "Follow Me" service to let your friends know where you're available, to receive calls.

    Reminders - Set ICQ to remind you of future events and activities.

    Notes - Write yourself memos and notes to leave on your screen.

    ToDo - Organize what you have to do in a reminding system.



18 - Web Search - You can now search the Web through the ICQ client. You can also translate words or entire sites to other languages, find definitions for words and more.

19 - Word List Filter - You can filter incoming messages and URLs that you find objectionable.

20 - Chat:

    Chat Playback - You can save your chat session and play it back later.

    Chat Actions/Emotions - Show your Emotions or create a Chat Action using some of the new Chat features.



21 - ICQ Shortcuts - You can set your preferences to work with shortcuts

22 - Place your ICQ wherever you want in your desktop.
