Define
your IP yourself (Tested with only ICQ98)
If you want people not to see
your real IP at that moment, this topic is for you. Process
this easy steps :
1- |
Choose
"Preferences" from ICQ Menu.

Come
to "Conncetion" tab.

After
choosing "I'm using a parmanent internet connection
(LAN)" click on "I'm behind a firewall or proxy"
which is in the 2nd line below it, and click on "Firewall
Settings".

From
the "ICQ Firewall Setting Wizard" window, choose
"I am using a SOCKS4 proxy server" and click
on "next" button.

Enter
any IP no you want in "SOCKS Host" box at the
top. Leave the "SOCKS4 Port" box with the value
1080 and click on the "next" button.

And
click on "Done" button. Click on "OK"
in the "Preferences" section. Restart ICQ.

We
managed!! But what kind of advantages and disadvantages
this can bring us? Firstly, as a disadvantage the message
sending time will be increased and also receiving time.
You can't use the chat option and file transfer option.
But the most important thing, noone can see your real IP
from ICQ...
